CE marking of power-operated residential doors
Power-operated residential doors must be CE marked before they are put into operation, which certifies that the door meets EU safety, environmental and functional requirements. Manufacturers and installers are responsible for correct CE marking, including the EC declaration of conformity, declaration of performance (DoP) and nameplate with the necessary information. The CE marking shows that the door has been installed and tested in accordance with applicable regulations.
The CE marking is based on several EU directives and regulations, including the Construction Products Regulation, the Machinery Directive, the EMC Directive and the RoHS Directive. These requirements ensure mechanical safety, electrical safety, operational reliability, resistance to interference and restriction of hazardous substances. Performance is tested by a certified testing laboratory and documented according to the product standard EN 13241:2003+A2:2016.
The manufacturer must produce technical documentation, risk assessment, production control and installation and maintenance instructions in Swedish. Power-operated residential gates on private property are normally not subject to inspection requirements, but if the gate is located in a public place or within, for example, a housing association, inspection by an accredited inspection body is required.
