Our members: Port & Industrial Service

In this series we introduce our new members, where they talk about their activities and why they are members of the Port Group. Now it's the turn of Port & Industrial Service and we had a chat with Niclas Vinberg, who is a co-owner of the company.

Niclas Vinberg and Magnus Johansson are both 35 years old and have known each other since high school, almost 20 years. For a long time they shared an ambition to start a business together, but previous ideas fell through on everything from financial calculations to questionable banks and non-existent premises. Today they look back on this as luck – because it led them to the right opportunity at the right time.

In 2010 they moved from Skåne to Ljungby to train as service technicians for heavy mobile machinery. After several years in the industry, Niclas took the step into the door sector in 2016. When he was offered the opportunity to acquire Port & Industriservice in 2019, he contacted Magnus who immediately agreed.

At the time of the takeover, the business consisted of two people. Today, the company has grown to 11 employees, multiplied its turnover and established itself as a strong player in the industry. In 2025, Port & Industriservice was also appointed as Gazelle company, a clear proof of their strong development.

Can you tell us a little about your business and what role you have in the company?

Port & Industriservice Ljungby AB works with service, repair and sales/installation of gates, gates, docking solutions and entrance automation.

We choose our suppliers with care as quality is incredibly important to us and our customers! We put our employees first and as an employer we live by the following motto: "Criticism is a way for us to develop, as long as it is constructive"!

My role is governing the company with everything from the work environment, personnel, but also customer relations.

What do you consider to be the most valuable benefits of being a member of the Port Group?

We think being a member of the Portgruppen is a given as we truly believe in the work the Portgruppen does to drive the industry forward! It gives us a way to have an impact.

In our opinion, the industry has been neglected when compared to other similar industries in terms of safety, requirements for working with the products, but also for the manufacturers. Here we see that Portgruppen is doing an incredible job of "uniting the industry".

Being a member of the Portgruppen not only gives us knowledge, e.g. in the form of training, but also an incredibly great opportunity to develop as we build a network of contacts and can thereby share experiences with other companies that have either encountered the same problems as us or will do so.

How do you work with sustainability in the door business, and what initiatives are you looking forward to developing?

Despite our small size, we have managed to move away from paper for our service technicians. We have largely completely digitized our workflows for the technicians regarding work orders, preventive maintenance, etc.

We believe this has made a big difference and is, in addition to choosing our suppliers with care and choosing to shop as locally as possible, what we as a service company can do to influence sustainability. At the same time, we secure our future by being able to scale up or down completely freely without having to worry.

What issues do you think are important for the industry association to pursue?

We believe that the Portgruppen should continue the work of "uniting the industry". By that we mean that those of us in the industry should play by the same rules. Regardless of whether it concerns inspection, service or new sales. Rules and requirements apply to everyone and are meant to be followed, this still seems to be, for some, a question of interpretation.

We believe that membership in the industry organization is a seal of quality that shows that you are a serious player who wants to work for a better future.

What challenges do you think the industry will face in the coming years?

We believe that a major challenge the industry will face is different regulations and legislation. We need to create a regulatory framework that is not open to interpretation!

This way we will have a healthy industry where competition on equal terms is a prerequisite for companies in the industry to grow and develop!
