Port Group Autumn Meeting 2024 – New legislation, AI and cybersecurity in focus

The Portgruppen autumn meeting 2024 on December 5-6 brought together over 50 participants at Teknikföretagen in Stockholm for two intensive and educational days. The meeting offered a current and diverse program, where several important topics for the industry were discussed.

A central part of the meeting was the new regulations affecting companies, including the AI Regulation, which will come into force in different stages during 2026 and 2027. Participants also received insights into NIS2, the new cybersecurity law that entails increased requirements for risk management and incident reporting – something that may also become a requirement in procurements for smaller companies. In addition, the Data Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Regulation were presented, which impose requirements for the secure handling of connected products and cybersecurity in product design.

The meeting also offered practical insights into AI in industry and how companies can start using AI tools in their operations. A presentation on the increasing cyber threats to businesses and a checklist for SMEs were particularly appreciated.

Kaj Söndergaard, president of the European organization of the Port Group, gave a valuable presentation about the Energy Label and we also received an update on the economic situation, with particular focus on the development of the construction sector.

During the annual meeting, important decisions were made regarding the business plan, budget and membership fees for 2025. All presentations and minutes from the meeting have been sent out to participants.

We thank everyone who participated and look forward to future activities!
